At the launch of the new Alfa Romeo Tonale, Stellantis, in collaboration with Bcode and KNOBS, developed a new UX in the automotive world, introducing blockchain technology to certify the deed of a car digitally via NFT.
Stellantis is one of the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers and providers of sustainable, connected, safe and affordable mobility services.
Stellantis, with this project, enables buyers of the Alfa Romeo Tonale to receive in digital and incorruptible format the car ownership certification associated with an NFT.
The Web App that Bcode and KNOBS have developed for Stellantis, and Alfa Romeo, is structured starting with Bcode’s technology, thus remaining a turnkey and decentralized solution; in fact, by creating an account on the Web App, a non-custodial wallet will be automatically created, allowing the user to download his or her seed phrase as it is created. Once the NFT of one’s car is redeemed, the parent company can notarize every action performed with the car, and thus certify its history on blockchain.
Notarization of data allows a dataset to be written via hashes to blockchain in a certain, immutable and incorruptible way. In addition to writing the hash to blockchain, the uploading of the file or photo to IPFS also takes place, thus ensuring transparency and verifiability of what is written to blockchain.
